Dear ladies and gentlemen,
I am contacting you on behalf of Prof. Brigitte Winklehner, who would like to offer the students and the faculties of your university the opportunity to do scientific research in Austria. Prof. Winklehner is planning to hold scholarship interviews in Beijing on 2nd and 3rd July, 2010 for applicants of the following universities:

I kindly ask you to inform all the faculties of your university about the opportunity to apply for a Eurasia-Pacific Ph.D. or Post-Doc Scholarship. Please find the conditions of the program and the respective application forms attached or go to our website on www.eurasiapacific.net.
I am also providing a list of all Austrian member institutions with links to their homepages in order to facilitate the process of finding an adequate supervisor/academic partner here in Austria. Applicants shall immediately try to get in touch with professors.
Please notice that because of the Austrian studies regulations no Post-Doc studies are offered at the Universities of Applied Sciences.
I kindly ask you to send me and our network coordinator in Beijing, Ms. Song Aiping (s_aiping@yahoo.com.cn ) a list of applicants until Friday, 25th June 2010. Prior to this, please undertake a careful pre-selection of up to five candidates, who can attend the interview. Important criteria are their English and/or German language abilities as well as the data in the application file. The list of the applicants has to include the following information:

For the scholarship application file to be complete, I would require the following:
· Application form (see attached)
· Detailed description of reseach project
· CV
· List of publications
· Official academic transcript(s)-certificate of Master / Ph.D. degree
· Letter of recommendation by the respective department at the home institution (signed)
· Statement of acceptance by an academic supervisor / academic partner in Austria (signed)
The complete application should be presented at the scholarship-interview!
An exception can be made for the statement of acceptance by an academic supervisor in Austria. All application documents have to be complete 2 months after conduction of the interview. Otherwise the candidates cannot be considered for a scholarship!
In case a candidate is awarded a Ph.D. or Post-Doc scholarship, he needs to provide all the application documents either in electronic form (scanned) or by airmail. All the application materials preferably have to be handed in at once.
According to the current visa regulations, applicants who apply for scholarships lasting up to 6 months have to consider the fact that their visa application process may take 2-3 months.
