On 18 February 2023, Mr. Kamalatdin Idirisov, Executive Director of the Aral Sea International Innovation Center of Uzbekistan, Ms. Qiao Jianfang, Director of the International Cooperation Division of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and representatives from Xinjiang Energy Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. of the State Power Investment Group, and other delegates, visited the Experimental Center of Desert Forestry of the Chinese Academy of Forestry. Mr. Zhang Jingbo, deputy director of the Center accompanied the field visit and attended the meeting.

A thorough field trip was conducted by visiting the demonstration site of "Dengkou Model", a typical desertification combating case proposed by the Experimental Center of Desert Forestry; as well as nature reserves, areas for sand closure and grass cultivation, areas for wind and sand prevention, and shelter forest for farmland protection. The delegation affirmed efforts made by the Experimental Center of Desert Forestry on desertification combating, and expressed the willingness to further strengthen cooperation with the Center.
