A total of 14 forestry officials and technicians from East Timor, Nigeria, Nepal and Uganda participated in the seminar.


On 28 May 2024, the closing ceremony of the Seminar on Leveraging Forestry for Rural Revitalization and Common Prosperity for Officials from Developing Countries 2024 was successfully held at the China National Bamboo Research Center of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Bamboo Center).
This 14-day training workshop is a multilateral foreign aid training project for developing countries, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Bamboo Center. Senior Engineer Ms. Zheng Youmiao from International Cooperation and Achievement Transformation Department of the Bamboo Center facilitated the closing ceremony. Mr. Abbas Abdulwahab, a forestry science and technology officer from the Ministry of Environment of Nigeria, delivered a speech as a representative of the participants, and Mr. Du Xuhua, member of the Party Committee and Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Bamboo Center, made a summary speech.
Mr. Du Xuhua said that this seminar is an important part of the Bamboo Center's exploration of training brand building to respond to "telling good stories about forestry and grassland science and technology and promoting President Xi Jinping's thought on ecological civilization". He also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce, the Economic and Commercial Offices of Chinese Embassies in various countries, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the Chinese Academy of Forestry, governmental authorities and relevant departments in Zhejiang, Anhui and other provinces for their support, also the hard work of all the trainers. He hoped that all participants could continue to carry forward the spirit of solidarity, hard work and enterprising spirit learnt through the seminar, and actively promote pragmatic and effective forestry cooperation between their own countries and China.
Mr. Abbas Abdulwahab said in his speech that this training workshop allowed the participants to deeply understand China's "people-oriented" sustainable forest management model, learn about the deep integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries of bamboo and walnut industries in Zhejiang, Anhui and other provinces, transform green mountains and clear waters into gold and silver mountains, and achieve poverty alleviation, rural revitalization and economic prosperity. It provides Chinese wisdom and solutions for solving the core problems of forestry development in other countries.
