Prof. Jiang Jianchun once served as the Director of the Institute of Chemical Industry of Forest Products of the Chinese Academy of Forestry. He also serves as the Deputy Director General of the Forestry Chemical Industry Branch of the Chinese Society of Forestry, the Director General of the Strategic Alliance for Biomaterials Industry Technology Innovation, and the Deputy Director General of the Strategic Alliance for Technology Innovation of Biomass Energy Industry.

Prof. Jiang Jianchun plays a leading role in forest products and chemical engineering in China. He and his team focus on the basic theory and applied technology research of thermochemical conversion of agricultural and forestry biomass, breakthroughs in key technologies for manufacturing high-value products such as carbon materials and biofuels, creating core equipment for continuous production. Relevant research achievements have been successfully applied in 15 provinces and autonomous regions across the country, and complete sets of technical equipment have been exported to more than 10 countries including Japan and Italy.

Prof. Jiang Jianchun has won the National Prizes for Progress in Science and Technology for four times, and 10 prizes for progress in science and technology at provincial and ministerial levels. He has published more than 300 academic papers, and obtained about 70 authorized invention patents. His research achievements have improved China’s forest chemical technology and promoted the development of forest chemical industry.

In 2017, Prof. Jiang Jianchun was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
