
Ph.D. supervisor, Chief Scientist of the Chinese Academy of Forestry. She is currently the principle investigator of the State Key Laboratory of Tree Genetics and Breeding, and the Research Institute of Forestry, Chinese Academy of Forestry. She is a member of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of New Plant Variety Testing, also the Executive Director of the Dried Fruit Branch of the Chinese Society of Horticultural Science, the Deputy Director of the Economic Forest Branch of the Chinese Society of Forestry, the Chairman of Walnut Branch of the China Economic Forest Association, and the Director of the Expert Committee of the National Innovation Alliance of Walnut Industry.
Prof. Pei Dong and her team have made remarkable achievements in the fields of walnut hybrid breeding, walnut germplasm resources, walnut genome variation map, vegetative propagation of improved walnut varieties, and ecological and economical walnut cultivation model suitable for the low mountainous area in China. She has published more than 100 academic papers, cultivated three national-approved varieties, 14 provincial-approved varieties, and 13 authorized new varieties. She obtained two national invention patents, formulated and revised 13 international, national, industry, and local standards. She is also the Chief Editor of three monographs (including China Walnut Germplasm Resources), and has co-edited two books.
