Prof. Wang Junhui has presided over a total of six national-level projects, covering the following fields: collection, preservation andevaluation of Catalpa bungee and Picea asperatagermplasm resources, creation of new germplasm and selection of improved varieties, asexual breeding and industrial application, and analysis of specific trait mechanisms, to achieve the independent and innovative development of improved varieties, promoting the upgrading of precious timber species in China.

Prof. Wang Junhui has made 15 major research achievements, obtained 14 authorized invention patents, obtained the protection rights for 15 new plant varieties, reviewed (certified) 36 improved forest tree varieties (10 varieties at the national level), formulated 16 industry and local standards, and published 110 academic papers (including 30 SCI papers). He has established a total of 20,000mu (about 1,400ha) of experimental demonstration forests and transformed eight research achievements, generating an income of RMB 1.29 million(nearly USD 200 thousands), with which more than 160 million improved varieties have been promoted and bred, with a total promotion area of more than 2.5 million mu (about 170,000ha). He has obtained multiple awards on science and technology at various levels.
