Ph.D. supervisor, Chief Scientist of the Chinese Academy of Forestry. He is currently the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Tree Genetic and Breeding, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a leading scientific and technological innovation talent in the "Ten Thousand Talents Program" of China.
Prof. Zeng Qingyin has been mainly engaged in comparative functional genomics of forest trees and Populus molecular breeding research. He has revealed the functional differentiation mechanism of important gene families for perennial forest trees to adapt to stress. He has collected and preserved 47 families and 1094 clones of Populus germplasm resources at home and abroad, and preserved over 5520 specimens copies, and 11 poplar hybrid groups were created. He completed the whole genome sequencing of Populus alba, an important afforestation tree species in China, and established a gene transformation and gene editing system forPopulus alba. He has published more than 50 academic papers in domestic and foreign professional journals such as Plant Cell, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Plant Physiology, and New Phytologist.
