Main work

Prof. Huang Qinjun has mainly been engaged in conventional Forest genetics and Tree breeding (comprehensive technology of directional selection and breeding of poplar; Cultivation technology of fast-growing and high-yield poplar forests; Gene resource collection, preservation, and utilization, etc.) and high-tech fields (construction of tree genetic maps; quantitative trait loci (QTLs) localization; Molecular marker assisted resistance breeding; Basic and applied research on genetic engineering and breeding of forest trees. The main research directions include: breeding and cultivation techniques of excellent new varieties of poplar, introduction and domestication of excellent genetic resources of poplar, molecular marker assisted breeding selection of poplar, genetic improvement of wood properties and selection of excellent varieties of poplar, genetic engineering breeding of poplar, selection of Mongolian oak germplasm and asexual rapid propagation technology.
