Prof. Rao Guodong, Principle investigator, PhD supervisor, Director of the National Innovation Alliance of Forest Tree Genomics and Genetic Engineering; Study in the important traits formation and regulation in characteristic economic trees. In particular, with the guidance of improving the quality and efficiency of olive oil and accelerating the molecular breeding process of olive oil as the overall goal, and taking the molecular mechanism of olive oil characteristic trait formation as the entry point, constructed a high-quality genome map of olive oil, revealed the regulatory network of characteristic metabolites and genes in olive oil; Proposed the optimal harvesting strategy model for olive oil. His research on olive oil has formed a virtuous cycle from big data to theory and technology, and then to production, providing strong scientific support for improving the quality and efficiency of economic trees. Published more than 30 academic papers, including 20 SCI journal papers as the first or corresponding author; Won one second prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award, two national invention patents, and two national certified superior breeds.
