Main work

Prof. Sun Peng, male, was born in October, 1984. He is a researcher of the Research Institute of Non-Timber Forestry, Chinese Academy of Forestry, and is the chief expert of Diospyros spp. plants innovation team. He has a doctoral degree of forest genetics and breeding. He was rewarded as a member of the "Cultivation Program for Excellent Young Innovative Talent of the Chinese Academy of Forestry". He is a visiting scholar in Kyoto University, Japan, and is a master tutor. He is mainly engaged in collection, conservation, evaluation of Diospyros spp. germplasm resources as well as breeding, and also studies the formation mechanism of essential traits of Diospyros spp. He directed or acted as major participant in 14 research programs, including the National Natural Science Foundation Projects and the National Key Research and Development Programs, etc. He cultivated 6 superior persimmon varieties, and obtained 5 national plant new variety rights. He published 28 papers as the first or corresponding author (19 SCI papers and 8 CSCD papers), and also published 2 academic monographs, including an international one. He applied for 10 national invention patents, and 7 of them were authorized. He issued a national standard, a forestry industrial standard, and a Henan provincial standard. He won the first level of "Liang Xi" Science and Technology award in 2021.
