Main work

Prof. Wang Kailiang has been engaged in the genetic improvement and cultivation technology research of oil-Camellia and pecan over 27 years. Prof. Wang has led more than 20 provincial or national programs, including the national Key R&D Program of China "High-yield Varieties Breeding and Precision Cultivation Technology of Oil-Camellia, acer truncatum, and sea-buckthorn" (14th Five-Year Plan), "Integration and Demonstration of High-efficient Cultivation Technology of Oil-Camellia and Chestnut" (13th Five-Year Plan), etc. The research achievements "Research and promotion for High-yield Cultivars Selection and Cultivation Technology of Oil-Camellia" and "Cultivars Selection and High-efficient Cultivation Technology of Characteristic Nuts in South China" were awarded the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress. Prof. Wang has published more than 50 research papers and 5 books, authorized 6 national invention patents as well. A total of 18 superior varieties of oil-Camellia and pecan were approved by national or provincial Improved Forestry Varieties Approving Committee. Prof. Wang also won 7 honors such as Outstanding Contribution Award of forestry industry, Advanced agricultural science and technology workers in Zhejiang Province, etc.
