Main work
Mainly focus on the introduction, domestication, and large-scale cultivation of exotic economic tree species in southern China. With the cultivation of economic forests as the core, the research direction includes plant introduction and domestication, breeding of fine varieties, pollination and reproductive biology of plants, yield physiology and cultivation techniques, as well as management of agroforestry systems.
Chaired two projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one key project of Yunnan Provincial Basic Research Program, and three research projects funded by the Fundamental Research Funds of CAF. Also participated in ten projects at the provincial and ministerial levels as a key member. Published seven SCI-indexed papers as the first or corresponding author, including three in Q1 journals. Granted four national invention patents and four international invention patents as the first inventor. From 2014 to 2017, as well as in 2023, Dr. Wu was selected as a science and technology envoy of Yunnan Province.
