Prof. Xiao Wenfa, male, born in 1964,   researcher, PhD supervisor. Presently, he is the Vice President and member of the CPC sub-committee of Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF). He also holds the   posts of director of Collaborative Innovation Center in Ecological protection of Yangtze River Economic Belt, National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA), president of Shennongjia National Park Research Institute, CAF, director of National Forest Ecosystem Station of Three Gorges Reservoir in Zigui County, deputy director general of Professional Committee of Forest Ecology, Chinese Society of Forestry, member of the council of Chinese Society of Forestry, Chinese Society of Ecology and Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. Dr. Xiao is also executive member of International Union of Forestry Research Organizations (IUFRO).

Prof. Xiao Wenfa has been committed to research on physiological ecology of forest productivity formation, vegetation restoration and ecosystem monitoring in regional vegetations, climate change and ecosystem management, and capacity building of forest protection and sustainable management.

Prof. Xiao Wenfa has been the chief investigator for National Science and technology support program, National Key Research and Development Program, 973, public welfare project, programs of National Natural Science Foundation of China, GEF, UNDP, FAO, etc. He has also engaged in China's negotiation in the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) and working /technical groups and liaison offices of conservation and sustainable management of temperate and boreal forests of the Montreal Process (MP). He has received first-prize of Science and Technology Progress Award at the provincial of ministerial level, and second-prize of Liang Xi Science and Technology Progress Award of Forestry. Dr. Xiao has published more than 200 academic papers in Tree Physiology, Plant, Cell and Environment, Journal of Ecology, Science of the Total Environment, Forest Ecology and Management, Forests, Acta Ecologica Sinica, Scientia Silvae Sinicae, etc., and 30 of which are SCI papers. He published 8 academic books, 1 academic book and 5 national reports. He has received the 7th China Forestry Science and Technology Award, and been elected as member of Millions of Talents program at the provincial or ministerial level, Advanced Individual of Outstanding Contribution to China's National Ecological Development, and Advanced Individual of the Ecological and Environmental Monitoring System of the Three-Gorge Project in the Yangtze River, etc. He is the receiver of Special government allowances of the State Council.
