Main work

Prof. Xu Han mainly engages in research on biodiversity maintenance mechanisms, vegetation ecological restoration and evaluation. He had established the world's largest 60 and 64 hectares of tropical rainforest biodiversity dynamic monitoring plots and a batch of grid monitoring plots in Hainan and Guangdong provinces. He discovered 7 new plant species and published over 40 papers and 2 monographs, such as eLife, Communications Biology, and Journal of Ecology. He undertook more than 20 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Science and Technology's Basic Work Special Project.
