Prof. Yu Wenji, researcher, doctoral supervisor, the member of Communist Party of China Chief Scientist of Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF), President of Research Institute of National Bamboo Industry Recipient of Special allowance of the State Council.
Prof. Yu Wenji is also the president of National Innovation Alliance for Scrimber materials industry, the president of scrimber and its products branch of China National Forest Products Industry Association (CNFPIA), the director of expert committee of Green Home Branch of CNFPIA, the deputy director of Biomassmaterials Branch of China Forestry Society, and the deputy director of Standardization Technical Committee of CNFPIA.
Prof. Yu Wenji has been engaged in the field of bamboo (wood) scrimber materials for 30 years, innovating in the application of basic theory and methods of the reorganization of the material preparation, breaking through the reorganization of high-performance materials and efficient use of key technologies, constructing scrimber materials technology and standard system, and vigorously promoting the transformation and upgrading of timber industry in China from the traditional wood-based panel products to up-market and high-performance scrimber materials, leading the field of scrimber material of our country from technology and equipment to product development and application to the international leading position. He has mainly directed more than 40 national, provincial and ministerial projects.
Prof. Yu Wenji has won 3 national science and technology progress awards, 1 excellence award of Chinese patent, 5 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, participated in the compilation of a monograph, published about 286 academic articles accounting for 42% of global scrimber material field. He has authorized 109 patents, 42 invention patents, and 1 international patent, accounting for 10.11% of global field of scrimber material, and ranks the first in the world as patentees. He led the development of 12 standards in the field of scrimber materials.
