Main work

Prof. Zhang Huiru has been engaged in forest sustainable management research for a long time, mainly involving forest growth simulation, multi-objective management decision optimization, natural forest management and so on. He used dynamic programming method to solve the problem of automatic control of interval in the management optimization of plantation. He applied nonlinear joint estimation method to solve the compatibility problem of forest biomass model. Based on long-term research accumulation, he proposed modern forest management principles and the theory and technical system of accurate forest quality improvement. He made many innovative achievements, such as forest biomass measurement technology combined with forest resource survey, technical system and model of ecological-based harvesting for natural forest, growth model system and multi-objective management planning technology for northeast natural forest, forest multi-objective management spatial planning technology for management unit level, key technology and application model of forest health management. It has enriched the theory and technology system of forest sustainable management in China.

Prof. Zhang Huiru won 3 second prizes of Liang Xi Science and Technology Award; As the main participant, he won 2 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress, 1 first prize and 1 second prize of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress, and 2 first prizes of Liang Xi Science and Technology Award. He has published more than 190 academic papers and 14 monographs. Published 8 articles in mainstream newspapers. He has won many honors, such as the China Forestry Youth Science and Technology Award, the National Outstanding Forestry Science and Technology Worker, and the National Ecological Construction Outstanding Contribution Award.
