Main work

Main study field include: eucalypt germplasm evaluation; eucalypt hybrid breeding, eucalypt clone breeding.

Prof. LuoJianzhong presided over the establishment of the South China National Eucalypt Germplasm Bank and the core germplasm bank of "China Eucalypt Breeding Alliance". Systemically studied growth and environmental adaptation characteristics of important eucalypt species, built a national euclypt germplasm bank that collected and preserved about 3,000 lines of 24 species (subspecies). He studied eucalypt hybrid parental selection, growth and stress resistance genetic variation characteristics. He studied the mechanism of eucalypt heterosis, and applied them to directional excellent hybrids creation. He and his team have created more than 200 new varieties of eucalypt. Many of them were awarded excellent variety certificates and wide planted.

Core founder of China's first forestry "industry-university-research" cooperation organization "China Eucalypt Breeding Alliance" (now "Eucalyptus Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance"), constructed and optimized the breeding strategies, technical systems of the alliance.
