Main work

Prof. Li Bin hosted 2 general projects funded by NNSFC and 8 other projects,and participated in more than 30 other scientific research projects with a cumulative project funding of over 20 million yuan.

Prof. Li Bin was mainly responsible for the collection, preservation, identification, evaluation, and innovative utilization of germplasm resources of tree species such as Akebia, Liriodendron, and Pinus bungeana, collected over 2000 germplasm resources. A precise evaluation was conducted on the genetic structure, diversity, and phenotypic variation of germplasm resources. A series of complex new germplasm creation experiments, including chemical mutagenesis and radiation mutagenesis, were conducted on the intra genus hybridization of Akebia and Liriodendron, resulting in a batch of new germplasm, including mutant germplasm such as Akebia tetraploid. We have conducted new variety breeding for multiple genera, including Akebia, Liriodendron, Pinus bungeana, Sapinda sinensis, and Cassia, and have obtained a batch of new variety authorizations, including the selected Chinese good variety 'libinguifeng' Akebia and the stunning new variety 'penxian' Pinus bungeana. Currently, the new variety of Akebia has been promoted over 3000 acres in more than 10 provinces and cities across the country, increasing production by more than 50 million yuan and playing a positive role in national strategies such as rural revitalization.

Prof. Li Bin obtained 10 patents, 31 new variety certificates, 15 certificates of excellent tree species, 5 published standards, 6 books as chief editor or co editor, and published more than 100 papers, and participated in important international conferences and delivered one conference report and one wall poster report, and won four various scientific and technological awards, and train 2 master's students and assist in training 2 doctoral students.

Prof. Li Bin served as an academic member of the Zhejiang Landscape Greening Application Technology Collaborative Innovation Center and a national science and technology support expert, among other social positions.
