Main work

The research fields are sustainable forest management and ecosystem services. The research team has recently presided over 2 national key research and development projects, 4 international cooperation projects, and some provincial and ministerial projects; the team has published more than 60 papers, 5 books, 2 forestry industry standards, 2 patents, and 1 Liang Xi Science and Technology Award.

Ecosystem services and rural communities: a village-level forest restoration model. The research results have increased the economic income of forest farmers, benefiting about 532,500 people and issuing five local government policy consultation reports.

The quantitative management technology of secondary forest species diversity conservation and carbon sequestration capacity. By analyzing the interspecific association of evergreen broad-leaved forest in the west of Hunan Province, the biomass and growth model of dominant tree species were constructed. The quantitative and structure-management techniques of stand under the optimal carbon sequestration capacity was proposed.

The restoration technology of degraded economic fruit forest. The six ecological management models of economic fruit forest (Carya cathayensis Sarg.and Torreya grandis 'Merrillii') were established, which improved the overall ecosystem service capability of economic fruit forest.
