The Experimental Center of Forestry in North China (ECFNC), Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF), is a permanent, stable and reliable national forestry research and experimental base established in the temperate zone of our country according to the layout of China's forestry development and the regional characteristics of forestry research.

The main studies and functions of the center include accurate improvement of ecological benefit of non-commercial forest in North China, key technologies of directive cultivation of characteristic trees in North China, technology of forest germplasm resources in vitro conservation, and research and development of innovative technologies for forestry ecological restoration and resource utilization, carrying out scientific research experiments, achievements assembly, demonstration and promotion. Located in Mentougou District, Beijing, the center is 24 kilometers away from Tiananmen. With convenient transportation, special geographical location and abundant forest resources, the center is an important part of the ecological security green barrier in the western part of the capital as well as a forest leisure and recreation place in the suburbs of Beijing.
