Researcher Yin Yafang from the Research Institute of Wood Industry was elected as the Executive Committee Member of the International Union of Biological Sciences

In 9-13 March 2023, the 34^thGeneral Assembly of International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS) was held in Tokyo. Researcher Yin Yafang from the Research Institute of Wood Industry of the Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF) was elected as a member of the new executive committee. This will further enhance the status and influence of Chinese scientific researchers in this international academic organization and actively promote cooperation between relevant Chinese bioscience institutions and IUBS.

Ms. Yin Yafang has been engaged in research of wood science for a long time. She is currently the Secretary-General of the International Association of Wood Anatomists (IAWA), leader of the wood identification subject group of the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations (IUFRO), deputy editor-in-chief of the scientific journalIAWA Journal, editorial board member ofWood Science and Technology,and the executive deputy editor of theWood Science and Technology.

Founded in 1919, IUBS plays a leading role in the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and has close cooperation with international organizations such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
