IUFRO Excutive Director Position Announcement

Dear colleagues,On behalf of the Management Committee (MC) and as President elect of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) I have to announce that Peter Mayer, IUFRO Executive Director, has been appointed Director of the Austrian Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape (BFW). Since 2003 Peter has served the Union extremely well by engaging IUFRO more strongly and enhancing its visibility in international forest-related processes and fora. His term as Executive Director will end after the IUFRO World Congress end of August 2010. We wish him all success in his new position.In the interim, Alexander Buck, will act as Executive Director, and lead the IUFRO Headquarters.IUFRO is seeking to appoint an Executive Director to serve as its chief executive officer based at the Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, located at the Austrian Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape (BFW), as of 1 November 2010. The position will be based on secondment or a specific donor grant.
